Position Summary...
The Director, Workers’ Compensation at Walmart Claims Services provides enterprise leadership over workers’ compensation strategy, quality, and regulatory compliance, with explicit accountability for California Workers’ Compensation operations. This role leads multi-disciplinary teams, oversees third-party audits and vendor performance, and drives consistent, compliant claim outcomes at scale. The Director partners with senior executives to mitigate risk, strengthen governance, and embed quality and compliance into daily operations across a complex, high-volume claims environment.You will work closely with Claims, Legal, Risk, Finance, Quality and Technology teams to design training content in an electronic format and drive measurable improvements in the claim’s lifecycle. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys strategic thinking and has strong stakeholder influence.

What you'll do...
- Lead enterprise workers’ compensation strategy with direct accountability for California WC compliance, quality, and operational performance.
- Direct third-party audits, TPA oversight, and vendor governance, ensuring adherence to California DWC regulations and internal standards.
- Lead and develop managers and senior leaders across WC operational functions.
- Analyze enterprise WC data and audit findings to identify systemic risks, trends, and corrective actions.
- Partner with Legal, Risk, Finance, and executive leadership to influence policy, process, and technology decisions.
- Extensive leadership experience in workers’ compensation claims, with deep expertise in California Workers’ Compensation regulations required.
- Proven success leading large teams and managers in complex, high-volume WC or TPA environments.
- Strong background in third-party audits, vendor oversight, and regulatory compliance (including CA DWC standards).
- Executive-level communication skills with the ability to influence senior stakeholders through data-driven insights

The annual salary range for this position is $110,000.00 - $220,000.00 Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include :
