Overview
Synaptics is looking for a Compensation Manager to support the design, implementation, and administration of global compensation programs, including base salary structures, incentive plans, and equity. This role requires strategic thinking, strong analytical skills, and a hands-on approach to solving complex compensation challenges. The ideal candidate will partner with HR and business leaders to ensure competitive, equitable pay. This position reports to the Director, Compensation and Benefits.
The typical base pay range for this position is USD $129,000 - $203,500 per year. Individual pay is determined by many factors including work location, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. This position is also eligible for a discretionary annual performance bonus, equity, and other benefits. Note that compensation listed in US role postings reflect the base salary only, and do not include bonus, equity, or benefits.
Responsibilities & Competencies
Job Duties
  • Advise and inform on compensation practices globally, demonstrating an understanding of market dynamics, pay trends, and regulatory requirements
  • Leverage competitive market data and benchmarking tools to develop, evaluate, and implement compensation strategies aligned with business priorities
  • Review and analyze employee compensation data to ensure internal equity and external competitiveness
  • Conduct job evaluations, review and create job descriptions to ensure appropriate leveling and alignment with compensation structures
  • Oversee the design of compensation packages for global employee transactions aligned with compensation strategy and organizational goals
  • Support the design, modeling, and administration of global salary structures, annual merit, bonus, and equity programs
  • Participate in compensation surveys and analyze resulting data to identify trends and gaps
  • Maintain compliance with global compensation-related laws and internal governance standards
  • Drive the planning and execution of compensation review cycles, partnering cross-functionally with key stakeholders, translating business priorities into programs, and assessing downstream impacts to support a high-quality employee experience
  • Develop and analyze compensation data to identify trends, inform decisions, and recommend strategy-aligned adjustments
  • Understand the role of job descriptions in supporting compensation, staffing, and compliance, including how to create, evaluate, and maintain accurate, consistent, and market-aligned job documentation
  • Experience supporting offer reviews and providing compensation guidance to HR or business partners

Qualifications (Requirements)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, or Human Resources, or a related field or equivalent experience
  • 8+ years of experience focused on compensation analysis, program support, or compensation operations
  • Strong collaboration and relationship-building skills; able to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders at different levels
  • Hands-on experience with HRIS systems (e.g., Workday) for managing compensation data; and reporting tools
  • Expert-level Excel skills required, with the ability to build dynamic models, dashboards, and data visualizations for compensation insights.
  • Familiarity with global compensation practices and able to tailor strategy and recommendations to align with regional market, legal and cultural differences
  • Flexibility to support global teams across various time zones
  • No travel required
