Job Description

Music Therapist - Swedish First Hill 1221 Madison-Seattle(HR)

SCHEDULE: 2 days a week 8:30-5:00.

The Music Therapist is a complementary health care clinician, who uses evidenced-based music therapy interventions to enhance and support care during active cancer treatment and/or survivorship. The Music Therapist maintains a collaborative approach to treatment by working closely with the Psychosocial Oncology Team and other medical providers and caregivers. The ideal candidate is well-versed in program development related to the field of music therapy, able to lead individual and group music therapy sessions in the inpatient and outpatient setting, capable of building individual clinic-based services, and provide music therapy treatment in infusion clinics and/or other locations as assigned.

Required qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Music Therapy from an American Music Therapy Association (AMTA) approved university program.
  • upon hire: Holds and maintains certification from the Certification Board for Music Therapists (CBMT).
  • upon hire: Holds and maintains the Music Therapist-Board Certified (MT-BC) title.

Preferred qualifications:

  • upon hire: Advanced training in Neurologic Music Therapy
  • upon hire: Advanced training in Guided Imagery and Music.
  • 2 years In music therapy, medical setting preferred
