Job Description

Associate Director Marketing

Liver and Acute anti-infectives Business Unit

Holborn, London

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced marketer as an Associate Director to be a key member of the Liver and Acute anti-infectives Business Unit – based out of the Holborn office. We are looking for someone with proven experience in a Pharmaceutical marketing role, who is looking to take the next step in their career development.

We have a diverse portfolio across the BU encompassing both mature and launch brands in several different therapy areas, covering the UK and Ireland.

The Liver Franchise, across established products in Hepatitis B and C, and a recent launch in Hepatitis D, and a pending launch in Primary biliary cholangitis (PBC), also known as primary biliary cirrhosis, a chronic autoimmune disease that causes inflammation and scarring of the liver's bile ducts. Acute Anti-Infectives consists of an anti fungal used to combat invasive fungal infections and an anti-viral to treat Covid 19.

The role will have key leadership responsibilities as part of the wider marketing team, helping to drive and shape the commercial output of the collective portfolio.

Key responsibilities:

  • Driving the brand planning process for relevant brands – leading the cross functional team and developing relevant strategy and tactics
  • Engage and support global team with development of product campaigns and adaption of material as relevant to the UK & I market
  • Building our Omnichannel engagement strategy, with an emphasis on understanding appropriate channel mix with defined KPI measures
  • Ensuring an optimised approach to resource utilisation, to allow for the right promotional mix, supporting in field tactics as well as Head office lead promotional and non promotional campaigns
  • Leadership of the brand team, working across other XF departments and seeking alignment with other stakeholders.
  • Spearhead and lead effective working relationships and effective engagement plans with NHS Therapy Area Experts and other key stakeholders to strengthen Gilead’s position
  • Demonstrate leadership excellence in project management and effectively managing multiple projects and priorities, including close working with agencies, procurement and relationship management
  • Leadership and delivery of key promotional and disease awareness events at conferences etc through the year
  • Working with Brand Managers within the team to provide guidance and mentorship.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritise resource to ensure optimised outcomes
  • Ensures that all marketing activities are in compliant with Gilead SOP and ABPI/HPRA Code of Practices

  • Good knowledge of UK & Irish Healthcare environment

  • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills to efficiently and productively communicate both orally and in writing are required.
  • Advanced planning and organisational skills, including ability to follow tasks/assignments through to completion
  • Demonstrated understanding of external and internal pharmaceutical regulatory requirements and impact on development of marketing materials is required
  • Strategic thinker, clear presenter and able to influence internal and external stakeholders
  • This role will report into the Liver & AAI Marketing Director.
